Whispered simultaneous interpretation, sometimes called Chuchotage [shoo-shoh-tazh] after the French for ‘whispering’, is small-scale simultaneous interpretation in which an ad hoc or "whisper" interpreter sits next to the listener and whispers the translation virtually simultaneously with the speech, with a delay of only a few seconds, without any pauses or interruptions. The interpreter renders an accurate summary of what is being said, rather than producing a verbatim translation.
This interpretation is suitable for meetings, presentations, speeches, seminars… any event in which one or more speakers provide brief speeches in a spaced manner, and one of the attendees does not understand the language in which they are speaking. Another advantage of this interpretation is the absence of any technical equipment. This type of interpreting is becoming increasingly popular.
We offer a whispered interpretation service, providing you with Chinese native interpreters, specializing in a range of subjects, capable of using the technical terminology inherent to fields such as economics, law, technology and science, among others. The languages pairs we support are Chinese-English, Chinese-Japanese, Chinese-Korean, Chinese-French, Chinese-German, Chinese-Spanish, Chinese-Russian, Chinese-Italian, Chinese-Arabic, and Chinese-Portuguese.
As well as the whispered interpretation service, we also offer other services involving simultaneous, consecutive, business and telephone interpretation, translation, localisation, transcription, proofreading, editing, voiceover, subtitling and AV mixing.
